 Company History

E.C. Legg & Son started trading in 1903, firstly as E.C. Legg and then in about 1935 as the present firm.
The shop was then at 3 Castle Buildings, but which is now 25 Castle Street.

When Edmund Charles died in 1940, Charles Allen took over until his death in 1986, the business is now run by his son Christopher.

In August 1922, Queen Mary, on her way to Westonbirt, stopped off in Cirencester, walked from the Market Square, along Castle Street and went into the shop, and made some small purchases in a visit lasting some ten minutes.
